Autism Support (Adult)

Oxfordshire Adult Autism Diagnostic and Support Service (OAADSS)

The Oxfordshire Adult Autism and Support Service offers support and advice services for adults in the Oxfordshire with a diagnosis of autism.

Child Health

Oxfordshire Healthier Together

The NHS Healthier Together App and Website provides advice for parents, young people and pregnant women. It provides clear information about what to look out for if your child is unwell and, if needed, it will allow you to inform us about your child’s symptoms directly in the app rather than having to call to get an appointment.

Download the app, where you can receive 24/7 advice on your child’s condition, as well as advice on when to call a GP, call 111, or call 999. The advice is Oxfordshire specific, so you will always be directed to a local service.

Oxfordshire Minor Eye Conditions Service (MECS)

This free NHS service is available to people aged more than six years in Oxfordshire and registered with an Oxfordshire GP.

Conditions treated include:

  • dry, gritty, irritable and uncomfortable eyes
  • foreign body in the eye
  • red eye or eyelids
  • ingrowing eyelashes
  • watery discharge
  • recent and sudden changes in vision.

If you have one of the above or another recently occurring minor eye condition you can refer yourself for an appointment with an optometrist. Click on the link above and select ‘find a MECS practice’. Please then call one of the opticians on the list and inform them that you are using the minor eye conditions service.

Mental Health

Oxfordshire Talking Therapies (formerly TalkingSpace Plus)

Felling low, anxious or stressed?

Oxfordshire talking therapies offer a range of free services such as counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) which are effective treatments for a range of mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). Please refer yourself using the link below. If you are aged between 16 to 18 you will need to be referred to Oxfordshire Talking Therapies by Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). Referrals to CAMHS for school age children should be completed by school teachers not your GP.

 

Oxford Safe Haven

A specialised safe haven offering a late-night safe space for people experiencing mental health crisis in Oxfordshire. People must call ahead to hold a place at the drop-in in Manzil Way, Oxford, for immediate mental health support in a non-medical environment. Pregnancy

Oxford University Hospitals Midwife Teams

Please complete this self-referral form after 6 weeks of pregnancy to notify your local Community Midwives who will arrange your first appointment with the team.

Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit (EPAU)

The Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit (EPAU) is a community service which cares for women in the early stages of pregnancy (up to 16 weeks). They can help if you are experiencing pain, bleeding or other problems relating to your pregnancy.

Oxfordshire Sexual Health Service (OSHS) offer a range of clinics in different locations around Oxfordshire. Most of these are by appointment only so please don’t drop in. Services offered include STI testing, emergency contraception, contraception, PEPSE, PrEP, HIV care and sexual assault support.
